I’m pleased to announce that Saving Babe Ruth has been named as a finalist in two categories of the annual Benjamin Franklin Awards competition for excellence in publishing. The two categories are: “Popular Fiction” and the “Ben Fisher Award for Best First Book: Fiction.”

This is the 27th year for the Independent Book Publishers Association’s Benjamin Franklin Awards. The program is regarded as one of the highest national honors for independent publishers. This year, there were 1,400 entries judged by 150  professionals from the library, bookstore, reviewer, designer, publicity, and editorial industry segments for both fiction and non-fiction categories.

I’m thrilled that Saving Babe Ruth is being recognized as having a wide appeal to readers. I plan to attend the awards ceremony in Austin, Texas on April 10th and to participate in the annual conference of the Independent Book Publishers Association.
